Laura Savage splits her music career between performing and teaching. She is the drum instructor at Royal St. George’s College and co-owns the Mill House School of Music in East Toronto. As a freelance performer she has appeared with numerous ensembles, including the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. She has appeared many festivals and events including the Toronto International Film Festival, the Canadian National Exhibition, Luminato, the Northern Lights Festival, and at the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival. Laura performs regularly with Savage Groove Dance Band, the Regimental Band of the Queens Own Rifles of Canada, DFM Bassoon Quartet, and is the Principal Percussionist for the Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra.
Guitar, Ukulele, Bass, Song Writing
Fabio Dwyer is a professional guitarist and co-owner of The Mill House School of Music. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Fabio has developed the Fabio Dwyer Guitar Method, which includes six books, covering electric and acoustic guitar technique, harmony, improvisation and advanced blues styles.
Fabio freelances with a wide array of groups playing Rock, Blues, Jazz, Pop, Soul, Latin & Brazilian Music throughout Ontario. He is a founding member of Savage Groove Dance Band and Forever Man: A Tribute to Eric Clapton.
Fabio has released 2 solo albums – Downtown Streets (2003) and Central Station (2010) – and the soundtrack for two movies, one in Brazil Destina-se, the other in Canada Food For All, a documentary presented at Toronto International Film Festival in 2012.
Fabio is an Artist-Educator accredited by The Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada and studied at the Music Teacher Training Program at Santa Catarina State University in Brazil.
Voice & Piano
Wendy Irvine has been teaching voice and piano privately for over 20 years now, as well as keeping a busy live performance schedule. She began her own musical studies at age 5 and started teaching when she was in high school; beginner levels of piano and voice at first and then moving on to teach students at higher levels as she continued to learn. Wendy studied piano and voice with The Royal Conservatory of Music and then furthered her musical studies at York University. At this point in her career, she has had the pleasure of teaching voice, piano, musicianship, ensemble, sight reading and song-writing at the college level as well as continuing to teach privately and being active both on stage and in the studio. Currently, along with performing as a solo artist herself, Wendy writes, performs and tours regularly with Dan Hill and has worked with other artists and musicians such as Eddie Graf (Frank Sinatra), Julie C, Thomas McKay (Joydrop), The Stampeders, Mimi O'Bonsawin and Jace Martin.
Flute & PIano
Rebekah Tam is a flutist and piano teacher currently studying at The University of Toronto. Rebekah has been teaching students at the Mill House School of Music for two years. She will be beginning her studies towards a Bachelor of Education starting in September 2019.
